Gray Outside, Gold Within: The Forgotten Truth of Tamil Identity

They looked at me and called me gray.
Not white. Not black. Just someone who doesn’t belong to either side.
To them, gray meant uncertain, rootless — unworthy.
But the truth is, gray reveals what others try to hide. It exposes the duality in a world obsessed with choosing sides. And in doing so, it reveals those who claim gold outside but hide darkness within.
This isn’t just personal pain — it’s a mirror to the crisis within Tamil identity itself.

Who was the origin of Tamil 

I was called gray.
Not because I lacked substance — but because I didn't conform.
Not white enough to be pure.
Not black enough to be cast out.
Just... inconvenient. In-between. Complex.

But when you called me gray, you revealed your own ignorance.
You, who decorate your homes with golden idols but reject those who speak uncomfortable truths.
You, who chant Murugan’s name, but abandon his courage.
You, who say Pandiyan is your forefather, but mock those who carry his spirit.

Let it be clear — you didn’t hurt me by calling me gray.
You exposed yourself as black-hearted — not by color, but by action.
You put Gurus in cages.
You discard thinkers like broken tools.
And then you dare to speak of dharma?

Let me now say what you refuse to accept: 

Tamil is not the root language of the world

Nor did Sinhala come from Tamil.
Tamil was born from the fusion of Sinhala and Shiva — through the inner essence, Akanam, and the divine spark, Aytham (ஃ).

When Shiva, the three-eyed one, merged with Sinhala's structure and Akanam, Tamil came into being — not as a singular inheritance, but as a profound convergence of civilizations.

You can trace it in the words. Many Sinhala words, when combined with Akanam, form Tamil words.
(Thus it became)

1. Kas + Ahanam → Kanru (calf)
2. Kuvan + Ahanam → Kuvanam (sky)
3. Wenawa + Ahanam → Akina (it became)
4. Ali + Ahanam → Aanai (elephant)
5. Kala + Ahanam → Kaanagam (forest) 

Tamil is not pure. Tamil is powerful — because it is born from conflict, unity, and transformation.

But today, the children of Tamil reject the very grayness that gave them birth.
They chant Sanskrit mantras — not knowing their meaning, not knowing even to whom they are praying.
They speak of Tamil pride, but follow rituals disconnected from their own roots.
They worship with outer gold, but reject the inner truth.
They glorify Tamil as origin, yet dishonor its true essence — born from union, not purity; #Sankaran.

Murugan, Valli, Deivanai — also known as Sankaran — The Gray Color.

So here is my final plea:

If you can't change your actions, then change your god.
Call her Valli, dark and fierce — the goddess of the rejected.
Or change your conduct — and become worthy of the golden gods you claim to follow.

Because in the end, those who reject the gray aren't just avoiding discomfort.
They are silencing truth.
They are betraying love.
They are forgetting what Tamil truly is.
